The Dry Update texture pack adds updates to Minecraft that were originally teased in the biome vote, back in 2019. During Minecon Live, Minecraft players from all around the world voted for their favorite biome to receive an update. Players picked Mountians, and Swamps later also received a promised update. The badlands, however, never got to look like it did in the trailer.
Flowering cactus and tumbleweed
For years, players have been waiting for a desert and savanna related update. The creator of this texture pack didn’t want to let players wait any longer. KeepMeow decided to create an awesome texture pack that includes both naturally spawning blocks and custom, decorative blocks and mobs.
Naturally, you will see different types of cacti appear throughout desert and badlands biomes. Cacti now have different shapes and have a chance to be flowering. Other than that, you may stumble upon the occasional rib cage. Do not worry: this is not an actual rib cage! It’s simply a dead bush, they now have a small chance to appear as a rib cage.
Many new mobs
The Dry Update texture pack also adds many new desert related animals. You can now add vultures, ostriches, meerkats, termites and crocodiles to your world. Because this is a texture pack and not a mod, you’ll have to add these manually. Simply grab a piece of white wool and rename it to whichever animal you want. Once it has the correct model, place it in an item frame and showcase your new mobs to all of your friends!
Apart from animals, this pack also adds blocks such as quicksand, tumbleweed and termite mounds. You can use the links below to check out this pack. It is highly recommended that you also get the add-on packs, which will add animations to all mobs and make the items frames underneath them invisible.
