JustTimm’s Vanilla Additions resource pack by Tim is a great texture pack that adds many unique features. Whilst doing so, it stays true to the feel of Vanilla Minecraft. It makes clever use of both vanilla and Optifine features to Minecraft look more detailed and fun.
Vanilla Additions
This resource pack adds a ton of details to Minecraft, without changing the basic vanilla Minecraft textures. Vanilla Additions will change textures to be more vibrant or to make them suit their biomes better.
Other than tweaking vanilla textures, the texture pack contains some additions in the form of overlays or texture variations. For instance, grass in a flower forest will have a random chance to have flowers on the texture itself. Another feature is texture variations. This means that one item or block, such as a flower, will appear in different shapes and colors throughout your world. This adds more diversity to your world, without adding any new flowers or blocks.
Biome dependent textures
JustTimms Vanilla Additions also includes biome dependent textures. This means you may see different textures for the same block when you’re in different biomes. A great example are many of the textures that include elements of wood. Campfires and torches for instance will have different wood textures based on the biome they’re in.
As you can see, the wood texture on the campfire and torch in the dark oak forest are actually much darker. This is because, using Optifine, the texture pack detects what biome the textures are in. Accordingly, it changes the overall texture to suit this biome.
And that’s not it! This resource pack adds many more features, which would take about an entire book to cover. Some of its unique features are custom GUI’s and adding connected textures to blocks like polished diorite, granite, and andesite. You can read all about this pack’s features over here.
