The Mythic texture pack is a mixture of old RPG and medieval-style art. Those who love texture packs that deviate a bit from vanilla Minecraft to attain some personality would love this. Playing Minecraft with the Mythic texture pack would make you feel like you have one main quest and some side quests to finish. This texture pack truly gets you in the mood to play some RPG. Each element was designed to give you that old Role Playing Game kind of atmosphere. We surely have a lot to talk about with this one.

Textures perfect for RPG

The blocks in Mythic have more defined textures due to it being a 32×32 resolution texture pack. They did get a darker tone, improving their overall visuals. Haystacks, chests, and ore blocks are more recognizable. The foliage is a bit cartoony, but looks good overall.

Weapons, tools, and food were all redesigned to remove vanilla Minecraft’s square look. A wooden sword looks like a carved tree branch. A stone pickaxe looks like a piece of sharp stone tied with a rope on a stick. And a diamond axe has a leather-wrapped handle and a diamond head installed on top.

Mobs may be a bit unusual

Mobs in the Mythic texture pack also have unique designs. Some of these may weird you out. Let’s take the villagers as an example. In the vanilla Minecraft, they have the brown Squidward look that we’re used to. In this medieval texture pack, they look like a bunch of sad 50-year-old men. If that’s not peculiar enough yet, try spawning a witch. Witches are on their usual mage outfit but their tongues are always hanging out. Maybe they cast their spells by licking your face. Eww.

Unique armor sets are always a treat!

Probably the most exciting, unique element in the Mythic texture pack are the armor sets. The wooden armor set is a wooden mail armor with leather padding. The chain mail looks like an actual chain mail. The iron armor set makes you look like a skull warrior because of its skull-shaped helmet. The golden armor set looks like a king’s armor. The diamond armor kind of gives off a blue beetle warrior feel. And the netherite armor set revolves around an evil arachnid design.

A lot of texture packs try their best to be as realistic as possible in hopes that they fill in some of the game elements that vanilla Minecraft lacks. This texture pack is far from realistic. It embraces a mystical theme that’s perfect for any RPG game. If you’re a fan of medieval-designed texture packs that makes you feel like you’re on a quest to save princesses from dragons, be sure to check out the Mythic texture pack.
